Hinsdale South places among top high schools in the country

DARIEN – Hinsdale South High School has been ranked No. 389 on a list of best high schools in the country, according to Newsweek Magazine and The Daily Beast.

For the ranking, Newsweek calculated criteria for each high school, which included graduation rate, college-bound statistics and average ACT and SAT scores, among others.

According to Newsweek, Hinsdale South had a graduation rate of 93 percent and a college-bound rate of 98 percent. The average SAT score was 1,862, while the average ACT score was 22.8.

The school received a Newsweek score of 3.28.

Newsweek also weighed the scores with a survey that was sent out to more than 5,000 high schools in the country.
