WHEATON – The Wheaton Park District is seeking bicycle donations. The bikes will be sold to cover the cost of recreation and athletic programs, camps, memberships and more for those who can't afford them.

Residents can bring new or gently used bikes to the Wheaton Community Center from 4 to 7 p.m. May 17. The park district will sell them the next morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. If sold, 75 percent of the sales go to the owner in cash and the remainder will be donated to the Leisureship program that helps subsidize park services for those in need. Those whose bikes sell can pick up the profits between 1 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
