Defibrillators available to DuPage groups

DUPAGE COUNTY – A county program to place more automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the community has more devices available, according to a news release.

The Start the Heart initiative launched in 2010 has placed 189 AEDs across DuPage county, but has more available through the Community Hero Program, according to the release. If any group purchases two defibrillators, the DuPage Health Department uses the funds from the $148,500 federal grant to donate a third AED to an organization that cannot afford an AED.

More information on CPR training, AED usage and the Community Hero Program can be found at www.dupagehealth.org
