Former Lemont village planner returns to department

Published: Tuesday, July 9, 2013 6:00 a.m. CDT

LEMONT – Former Lemont Village Planner Charity Jones has been hired as the village's new Planning and Economic Development Director. Jone began work in the new position Monday.

She is replacing James Brown, who resigned unexpectedly at the end of June, said Village Administrator George Schafer. It is unknown whether he has taken another job.

Jones left the village in June for a position in Downers Grove.

Schafer said the village was fortunate to facilitate Jones' return. Previously, Jones had worked with the village for five years.

"She worked well with the community," he said.
