Western Springs appoints new assistant fire chief

WESTERN SPRINGS – David Ogren has been named the village's new assistant fire chief. 

Ogren has been a member of the Western Springs Fire Department since November 1982, advancing to the position of captain over his 30-plus years of service. 

In addition to serving as a firefighter, Ogren is also an instructor and emergency medical technician. He has been heavily involved in fleet maintenance and offering input on specifications for new apparatuses and training. 

Ogren was sworn in at the June 24 Village Board meeting.
