Searching for lost property in Addison

Published: Friday, July 19, 2013 3:08 p.m. CDT

BENSENVILLE – Residents can search for their lost property on the I-Cash database with the help of state Rep. Kathleen Willis.

The I-Cash program helps to connect Illinois residents with unclaimed property – from stocks to safe deposit boxes. According to the program’s website, 1 in 8 residents have items they can collect through the program.

The I-Cash event will be held 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 24 at Music in the Park in Bensenville.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to locate and claim lost property, while also sharing your thoughts on issues impacting our state,” Willis said. “During these difficult economic times, it is important that constituents are aware of all the resources available to them.”

Representatives from the Illinois Treasurer’s Office will also be present at this free event to assist residents with the database and fill out paperwork to retrieve their items. Willis and her staff members can answer questions about the state service and gather feedback on legislative issues during the event.

For more information, contact Willis’ service office at 708-562-6970.
