BOLINGBROOK – North American Youth Sports (NAYS) is returning July 24-28 for the Bolingbrook 2013 Basketball Tournament.

For the seventh year, the village of Bolingbrook, Bolingbrook Park District and Valley View School District will welcome about 120 teams and 14,000 people from national youth sports associations, hosting five days of basketball games at four Bolingbrook venues.

Boys and girls fifth grade through high school from Illinois, the surrounding midwestern states, California and New York will compete in bracket style tournaments, with each team playing a minimum of nine games.

The Bolingbrook 2013 Basketball Tournament games will be held at Bolingbrook High School, Romeoville High School, Brooks Middle School and the Bolingbrook Recreation Association. Respective schools will sell concessions and keep the profit.

North American Youth Sports will charge admission to each venue.

Bolingbrook will pay $5,000 to host the tournament. The funds will come from the village hotel and motel tax, but Bolingbrook Mayor Claar estimated that all of the money will be recouped due to the influx of people staying in local hotels.
