Bolingbrook man dies after being hit by truck July 29

A 43-year-old Bolingbrook man died Saturday, five days after he was struck by a vehicle on the south side of Chicago, according to media reports.

John Lauricella, of the 300 block of Musial Circle, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 6:28 p.m. Saturday, according to reports.

About 12:58 p.m. July 29, Lauricella was attempting to cross east on State Street when he was hit by a 1994 Ford pickup truck traveling northbound in the 3000 block of S. State Street, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The driver, Pedro Reyes-Cruz, 29, of the 1400 block of North Bosworth Avenue, remained on the scene and received two citations – driving without a valid license and failure to exercise due care for a pedestrian in the roadway, police said.
