GLEN ELLYN – After many years of service to the Glenbard South High School community, Diane and Jim McKean will be honored with the Weinstein Award during halftime of the school's Homecoming football game Sept. 27.

The award is given each year in honor of Jerry Weinstein, the first Booster president, to individuals who have shown commitment and dedication to Glenbard South.

The McKeans joined the Boosters in 1999 and throughout the next 10 years, served on various committees.

They were involved in numerous events, including the Booster BBQ, pancake breakfast, Crosstown Kick Off Classic Football event and 50/50 Split the Pot prize drawing, according to a Glenbard District 87 news release.

The McKeans also worked concessions at athletic events, volunteered at Young Hearts for Life, participated in the Young Life Northwest DuPage Glenbard South adult committee and supported fundraising efforts for the football field lights, baseball batting cage and weight room expansion.
