LOMBARD – Peace Lutheran Church is recruiting community members to fill 500 volunteer spots for its annual Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event happening Nov. 1 and 2 at the Lombard church.

Feed My Starving Children is an organization in which volunteers prepare specially developed, nutrient-rich meals that are shipped to impoverished children around the world. Peace Lutheran Church is hosting a Mobile Pack event where representatives from Feed My Starving Children will deliver the food supplies and volunteers from the community will pack the meals on site.

To host this event, the church has committed to packing 100,000 meals and must secure 500 volunteers to help over the weekend-long packing event.

Anyone interested in the project is encouraged to volunteer. There are shifts from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 and from 9 to 11 a.m., noon to 2 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2.

To register for a volunteer slot, call the church at 630-627-1101 or visit PeaceHome.org.
