Police reports: Downers Grove for Oct. 2

Thefts reported

• A Dell computer was reported stolen from a locked vehicle parked between 5 and 9:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 1800 block of Butterfield Road. The vehicle’s driver-side window was reported shattered in the apparent vehicle burglary.

• An IPass transponder and registration paperwork and sticker were reported stolen from a locked vehicle parked between 8 a.m. Sept. 14 and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 17 in the 7330 block of Northgate Way.

Theft charges

• Jaime R. Kasper, 22, 4829 Beau Bien Blvd., Lisle, was charged with retail theft at 12:48 p.m. Thursday in the 2900 block of Finley Road.

• Julio Orjuela, 48, 4 Elm Creek Drive, Elmhurst, was charged with retail theft at 2:02 p.m. Sept. 25 in the 3300 block of Finley Road.

Burglary reported

A back door to a business in the 1400 block of Butterfield Road was discovered pried open at 7:17 a.m. Thursday. Police responded to an alarm and found filing cabinet drawers open. A second, interior door had pry marks around it but the apparent burglars failed to open it. It was unclear if anything was taken. The security company described the suspects as two men in a light blue, four-door SUV with a sun roof and “bar rack” on the top.
