WHEATON – Community members gathered together to celebrate the near completion of Wheaton’s newest piece of public art Oct. 6.

“Pearls of the Universe,” located on the side of Essencia Yoga at 1026 E. College Ave., celebrates the diversity and acceptance of the city.

The 70-foot mural was painted by artist R.J. Ogren and has been in process since July.

Residents came to enjoy refreshments, write their names and initials on the mural and see the work.
