Providence 21, Fenwick 13: Fenwick’s football homecoming was ruined by the team’s first loss of the season. Providence took the lead in the fourth quarter to pick up the 21-13 win in a Chicago Catholic League crossover game Saturday at Concordia University.

Running back Robert Spillane gave the Friars (6-1) a 13-7 lead with a fourth quarter touchdown run, but Providence answered on the ensuing drive and finished the game off with a interception return for a touchdown.

Providence (4-3) led 7-0 at halftime and the remaining points in the game were all scored in the fourth quarter.

Fenwick will look to rebound against De La Salle Saturday night in a matchup of teams that are 2-0 in the Chicago Catholic League White.

Glenbard West 34, Proviso West 6: The Panthers were officially eliminated from playoff contention with a heavy defeat at the hands of the 6-1 Hilltoppers.

West led 19-0 at halftime and cruised in the second half on a muddy Duchon Field Saturday afternoon. The Hilltoppers ran for over 250 yards of offense.

It was the third time in four West Suburban Silver games that the Panthers were held to six or fewer points.

Lake Forest Academy 33, St. Joseph 12: Despite Brandon Johnson taking the opening kickoff back for an 80-yard touchdown, the Chargers fell to the Caxys Saturday at Elmhurst College. Johnson accounted for all of the Chargers’ points by also scoring on a 65-yard run.

St. Joseph is now 1-6 with two conference games in the CCL Red remaining.
