Truck collision causes damage at Hauptman Jewelers in Lemont

LEMONT – A truck damaged a brick pillar on Oct. 11 holding up the overhang at Hauptman Jewelers, 1052 State St., Lemont, according to Lemont police.

Lemont Police Commander Greg Smith said the truck was pulling through the alley by the store and got too close to the overhang.

Smith said no one was hurt during the incident and no charges were filed by police.

Store owner Dave Hauptman, who was not in the store at the time of the incident, said no damage was done to the interior of the store and it is not affecting business.
