Suspect in Oak Brook bank robbery last seen at Wheaton train station

OAK BROOK – Police are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery that took place this afternoon at the Fifth Third Bank at 16th Street and Route 83.

The Oak Brook Police Department responded to the bank at about 2:45 p.m., and an initial investigation revealed that a white male, between 30 to 40 years old, and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall approached a teller and demanded money from the drawer.

The suspect left the bank with an undetermined amount of money, ran westbound on foot and was later spotted at the Wheaton train station, possibly heading toward Chicago, according to police.

He was last seen wearing a green jacket, scarf, green plaid hat, gloves and mirrored sunglasses.

The Oak Brook Police Department is working the case with assistance from the FBI, DuPage County Sheriff's Office and Oakbrook Terrace Police Department.
