Two armed men rob La Grange jewelry store

Linnea Jewelers was robbed just before noon on Thursday by two armed men, according to La Grange police.

LA GRANGE – Two armed men robbed Linnea Jewelers, 23 S. Ashland Ave., shortly before noon Thursday, according to La Grange police. 

The men entered the store, announced a robbery and gathered the store's two employees together, La Grange police said in a news release. Both men displayed handguns and obtained the keys to locked display cases. They then stole rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and cash before fleeing in a vehicle. 

The employees described the vehicle to police, who found it unoccupied on a dead-end street about 10 blocks from the store. The vehicle was stolen from a south suburb, police said. Police think the suspects likely used another vehicle to flee the area.

Neither store employee was injured during the robbery, police said.
