ADDISON – An Addison man was sentenced to 12 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to one charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.

Edwin Portillo, 22, of the 300 block of Army Trail Boulevard, pleaded guilty to the class X felony and prosecutors dropped one charge of criminal sexual assault and two charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, said State's Attorney's Office spokesman Paul Darrah.

Portillo abused a then-12-year-old girl from April to May of 2012, according to the charge he pleaded guilty to, but the dropped charges alleged abuse beginning as early as June 2007, Darrah said.

Portillo repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl and filmed her in the shower, according to media reports.
