LOMBARD – The Chicago Sinfonietta will be featured as the next event in the current Artist Series at St. John's Church, 215 S. Lincoln St.

The event will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 12 at the church. The Chicago Sinfonietta was founded by Maestro Paul Freeman in 1987 in response to the lack of opportunity for minority classical musicians, composers and soloists.

Under the guidance of Freeman and current music director Mei-Ann Chen, the orchestra performs at the highest artistic level and has acheived an outstanding reputation for its innovative programs.

The event is free and no tickets are needed. A $10 donation is suggested. An informal reception with light refeshments will follow the concert.

For more information, call the church office at 630-629-2515.
