Police reports: West Chicago for Feb. 13

DUI

Jonathan Ortiz, 25, 744 Benedetti Drive, Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer and speeding at 1:25 p.m. Jan. 31 in the 1300 block of Prairie Court.

Motor vehicle theft

The owner of a vehicle was informed by the West Chicago Police Department that their car had been located by another agency at 12:40 p.m. Jan. 30 in the 100 block of North Neltnor Boulevard.

Theft

• A debit card was reported taken and used by an unauthorized person at noon Jan. 27 in the 1900 block of Franciscan Way.

• A wedding ring was reported stolen at 11:58 a.m. Jan. 27 in the 600 block of Barber Street.

• A wallet containing several credit cards, $300 in cash, an Illinois driver’s license and ID, a firearm owner’s identification card, a social security card and a blank personal check was reported missing at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 100 block of East Roosevelt Road.

• License plates were reported stolen at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 800 block of Burr Oaks Drive.

Marijuana possession

Eduardo Cruz, 18, 615 Lincoln Ave., was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana and a signal violation at 1:52 p.m. at Ann and Weyrauch streets.

Criminal trespass

Howard Banks, 42, homeless, was charged with criminal trespass to real property at 10:36 p.m. Jan. 31 in the 500 block of Main Street.

Criminal damage

Ismael Villafuerte, 40, 1029 Barber St., was charged with criminal damage to property and possession of drug equipment at 5:01 p.m. Feb. 1 at his home. Villafuerte also had an in-state warrant at the time the incident occurred.

Harassment

• A harassment by telephone incident was reported at 4:27 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 1400 block of White Oak Lane.

• An incident involving harassment and unauthorized videotaping and distribution of sexually explicit content was reported at 10:06 p.m. Jan. 27 in the 300 block of East York Street.

• A harassment by telephone incident was reported at 11:58 a.m. Jan. 27 in the 600 block of Barber Street.

Fraud

An unauthorized debit card purchase at Meijer was reported at 2:08 p.m. Jan. 27 in the 1900 block of Franciscan Way.

Forgery

A forgery incident was reported at 8 a.m. Jan. 31 in the 1900 block of Franciscan Way.

Sex offender registration

• A sex offender was registered at 4:32 p.m. Jan. 29 at the West Chicago Police Department, 325 Spencer St.

Traffic violations

• Teodoro Pena-Mendez, 55, 614 S. Neltnor Blvd., was charged with operating a motor vehicle without registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle with only one light at 9:26 p.m. Jan. 27 at Ann and Norris streets. Pena-Mendez also had an in-state warrant at the time the incident occurred.

• Margarita Melchor-Luis, 27, 1028 Bishop St., was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle with only one light at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 31 at Main and Galena streets.

• Oliver Perez, 27, 514 Lincoln Ave., was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and a moving violation at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at Main and Wilson streets.

Lost items

A Mexican passport was reported lost at 5:26 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Westfield Fox Valley Mall, 195 Fox Valley Center Drive, Aurora.
