CLARENDON HILLS – While the eyes of the world are on the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, many young ice skaters and hockey players are honing their skills at the Clarendon Hills Park District's two outdoor ice skating rinks.

With appropriate weather and ice conditions, outdoor rinks are available at both Hosek Park and Prospect Park until 10 p.m. each day, according to a news release from the Clarendon Hills Park District.

Lights are on a timed energy saver system and are available with the push of a button after dusk. Rinks are not monitored, and parents are responsible for supervising children that are using the rinks, according to the release.

The Clarendon Hills Park District's web site maintains updated information on ice rink availability at clarendonhillsparkdistrict.org
