VILLA PARK – The District 88 Foundation's Dennis Doyle 3-on-3 Classic Basketball Tournament raised about $4,000 that will benefit the foundation and the annual Dennis Doyle Memorial Scholarship, according to Dani Brink, director of community relations for DuPage High School District 88.

Forty-four teams participated in the tournament, which was held last Saturday at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park. Doyle, who died in 2011 after a battle with leukemia, was a guidance counselor at Willowbrook High School. He was also the school's head basketball coach from 1994 to 2006.

Each year, Doyle's family presents two, $750 scholarships to a pair of Willowbrook seniors.
