Lemont High School team advancing to science and engineering finals

LEMONT – Lemont High School posted a runner-up finish at the North Central College Sectional of the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Academic Challenge and will head to the state finals on April 9, according to a school news release.

Several students earned top-five honors in their respective events.

Sophomore John Deuschle was first in the Engineering Graphics category and was joined in the top five by junior Tyler Schoell (second), sophomore Spenser Bailey (third) and senior Jeff Mason (fifth).

Other top-five efforts included: Mason, fifth in Computer Science; sophomores Mallory Douglass and Taylor Campos, third and fifth, respectively, in Biology; junior Dan Wang, third in Chemistry; and senior Alexandra Albrecht, fifth in Mathematics.
