ELMHURST – Registration is open for the sixth season of CK Running's Championship Training Academy, and those who register by May 1 get a free pair of Nike training shoes.

The six-week summer running camp is open to boys and girls entering fifth through 12th grades with all levels of experience. The fee is $275.

Charlie Kern, 44, of Elmhurst, launched CK Running after a decade of assistant coaching York's boys cross country and track teams.

The summer camp has grown from 79 runners in 2009 to more than 360 last year.

This year's camp will meet Monday through Friday mornings June 16 through July 25.

CK Running also will offer a separate running camp for adults, with proceeds benefiting the Elmhurst nonprofit Kickoff for Kids. For more information about the adult running camp, email contact@ckrunning.com.
