Heart Disease focus of wellness event at National University of Health Sciences

Published: Monday, April 21, 2014 10:36 a.m. CDT

LOMBARD – The National University of Health Sciences will host "Heart Disease: Are You at Risk?" at 7 p.m. April 28 in Building B, Room 539 at the NUHS Whole Health Center, 200 E. Roosevelt Road.

Half of heart attacks and strokes occur in people with normal cholesterol levels. Checking your inflammation levels can greatly reduce the risk of cardiac events.

Experts at the university will explain how a series of simple blood tests can detect inflammation and other markers of heart attack risks.

The event, part of the university's "Get Educated" community wellness series, is free and open to the public.
