Willowbrook High School students junior Alex Lapinski (left), junior Olivia Baumann and senior Colleen Shelton rehearse a scene from the theatre department's upcoming spring play, "God of Carnage."

THUMBS UP: The spring play continues on stage today and Saturday, but the Willowbrook theatre department's peformance has already received high praise. The high school's production of "God of Carnage" earned third-place honors at the Illinois High School Association drama state finals in March. Congratulations and break a leg this weekend.

THUMBS UP: Bob Goldin's contributions to the community transcend village borders. The Lombard resident runs his State Farm insurance business from his Lombard office, but it was the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce that named him the 2014 Business of the Year. Goldin said his involvement in a multitude of local nonprofits led to the honor. Thanks for giving back and congratulations on your business' 45th anniversary, which it celebrated last week.
