THUMBS UP: What a wonderful reception for the Wilder Park Conservatory ribbon cutting April 26. Hundreds of visitors turned out to see the $2.4 million renovations, and a new kaleidoscope donated in memory of Park Board Commissioner Joanne B. Wagner was a big hit.

THUMBS DOWN: The flooding of April 2013 continues to wreak havoc in Elmhurst a year later. A national insurance company recently filed a lawsuit against the city and DuPage County, as well as numerous other municipalities and counties, claiming damage from the flooding was preventable. We hope the resolution of the lawsuit is just and that it doesn't cause taxpayers any more grief.
