Cub Scouts to race wooden toy cars in Lake Villa

LAKE VILLA – Cub Scouts between the ages of 6 and 11 will have a chance to race cars downhill during a Cubmobile event at 9 a.m. May 3 at Caboose park in Lake Villa. The scouts fashion cars, by specifications, using seat belts, wood and wheels.

The sloped track is lined on both sides with rows of bails of hay. A wooden ramp starting point is at the top of the hill. Helmet's are a requirement for safety.

The North East Illinois Council's, North Star District of the Boy Scout's of America will host the annual Cubmobile event. Hundreds of Cub Scouts from all over the western part of Lake County are expected to participate.
