Published: Monday, April 28, 2014 1:18 p.m. CDT

WESTMONT – The Westmont Fire and Police Departments will host three 2014 Kid's Safety Preparedness Camp sessions in June, July and August.

Sessions will be held on June 16 and June 17, July 7 and July 8, and Aug. 18 and Aug. 19. The two-day camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

The camp provides an opportunity for 8, 9 and 10-year-old children to spend time with their local first responders and learn much more than just the usual safety lessons.

Applicants must live or attend school within the Village of Westmont or participate in a Westmont-based Cub Scout or Brownie Troop.

The camp is co-hosted by the Westmont Special Events Corporation, Oakbrook Toyota in Westmont, Westmont Citizens Fire Academy Alumni, and the Westmont Citizens Police Academy Alumni.

For more information, please contact Chris Hardy of the Westmont Fire Department, at chardy@westmont.il.gov or 630-981-6424.
