Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital earns ‘A’ for patient safety

BOLINGBROOK – Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital earned the highest grade possible – an “A” – from The Leapfrog Group, which has released a hospital safety score for more than 2,500 general hospitals across the country, according to a news release.

Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital’s safety score is based on the levels of infections, injuries and medical and medication errors. Of the 2,522 general hospitals issued a Hospital Safety Score, 804 earned an “A,” 668 earned a “B,” 878 earned a “C,” 150 earned a “D” and 22 earned an “F.”

According to The Leapfrog Group, the goal of its hospital safety score is to reduce the more than 180,000 deaths that occur annually from hospital errors and injuries nationwide.
