LISLE – A Lisle student is included in the first group of winners announced in the 59th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, according to a news release from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Daniel P. Bensen, who attends Benet Academy in Lisle, is among the about 1,000 high school seniors who have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards.

He will receive the National Merit McDonald's USA Scholarship. A resident of Downers Grove, Bensen hopes to pursue a career in accounting.
