HINSDALE – The Lane School head custodian Leo Maas earned an Award of Excellence this month from the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association.

The honor was given as part of the association's distinguished service awards at an event hosted May 2 to recognize staff, parents, residents, board members and students who have gone above and beyond in their roles and have effectively served as public relations ambassadors through their leadership and commitment, according to a news release from District 181.

Maas was highlighted for his "exceptional work and commitment," and was cited as consistently helpful, supportive, kind and a positive role model for students and staff, stated the release.
