This year, 38 recipients were chosen.

Area recipients include Melody Lee and Lana Moy, of Inverness, working toward a M.D. degree in medicine; Chester Busse, of Barrington, toward a B.S.N. degree in nursing; Jennifer Pichlik, of Deer Park, going into pharmacy; Amy Svenningsen, of Barrington, for occupational therapy; and Courtney Peat, of Port Barrington, and Danielle Nagel, of Barrington, for pre-medicine.

The auxiliary has now awarded a total of $637,185 to 611 students, to date.

Scholarship committee chair Betty Kilgore said the committee is excited to see the recipients "accomplish great things and make a difference in people's lives as they enter the world of health care."
