Area artists inspired by their natural surroundings can apply for a spot at the Sixth Annual Art of the Land art show and sale.

Put on by The Land Conservancy of McHenry County, the event showcases regional artists who are inspired by the local landscape.

The Land Conservancy is currently accepting applications, which are due by August 15.

Art of the Land is set for Sept. 19 and 20 at the Starline Gallery, 300 W. Front St., Harvard.

Hanging art, sculpture and floor pieces will be considered. A limited amount of space for artisans also exists. For a full list of guidelines and application materials, visit www.artoftheland.org.

Decisions on accepted art pieces will be announced by August 29.

Accepted artists agree to donate 30 percent of their sales to support The Land Conservancy's preservation mission.
