WESTMONT – The Westmont Village Board will hear the final presentation from AMEC consultants at 7 p.m. Monday at village hall regarding the development of a proposed stormwater utility.
A stormwater utility would result in a dedicated revenue stream to address community stormwater issues, according to a news release from the Village of Westmont.
The presentation will include an overview of the stormwater utility and why it is being proposed, recommendations from the stormwater stakeholder group, proposed costs and fees, proposed rate structures, proposed credits, incentives and examples of fees, the release stated.
Westmont residents and business owners are encouraged to attend the workshop. Although the board will not vote on the recommendation at the meeting, it is expected that formal action will be taken at a regular board meeting in July, according to the release.
“We held a total of four community stakeholder meetings to solicit citizen feedback in the development of this proposal,” Westmont Communications Director Larry McIntyre said. “It’s extremely important that residents understand that this initiative is necessary for the Village to address stormwater concerns in a more meaningful way.”
The meeting will be recorded and played back on local cable as well as posted on the Village of Westmont’s YouTube Channel.
