Excessive rainfall could cause minor flooding in areas such as Berwyn, Brookfield and Cicero, according to an alert from the National Weather Service.

The advisory stated that runoff from the rainfall could cause flooding along small streams and near low water crossings.

One to three inches of rain has already fallen, with more expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain has caused flash flooding in the Chicago area and has postponed events such as the Taste of Chicago, according to media reports.
