BOLINGBROOK – A motorcycle crash on Interstate 55 just south of I-355 killed a 14-year-old Naperville girl on Wednesday.

Illinois State Police say Ashley Wilson was killed when the motorcycle on which she was a passenger lost control, slid and struck a highway median around 8:28 p.m. on I-55 south in unincorporated Will County near Bolingbrook.

Wilson was pronounced dead on the scene while the 54-year-old driver, whom police said was Wilson's father, was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, police said. His condition was unknown as of Thursday.

Neither were wearing helmets, according to Illinois State Police District 15 Master Sgt. Wilfredo Rivera.

"The driver stated that his bike started to shake, he tried to pull onto the shoulder then the bike went down and skidded into the median wall," Rivera said.

A police report indicated Wilson lived in Glenwood but the Will County Coroner's Office said she had lived in Naperville.
