Engineers to record Clarendon Hills traffic

Published: Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 1:45 p.m. CDT

CLARENDON HILLS – As part of the downtown master plan, engineers will be in downtown Clarendon Hills Saturday and Tuesday recording traffic counts.

Residents should expect to see engineers recording traffic and parking conditions throughout those days.

Village Manager Randall Recklaus said the work is part of an effort to get a grant to improve downtown.

"We're submitting for a grant application through RTA to develop some space in our downtown," He said.

If the grant is awarded, Recklaus said the money will go towards street scape improvements.

The downtown study is being paid for through other grant money that was awarded by the RTA.

The Aug. 21 public hearing of the Zoning Board of Appeals/Plan Commission will be held to further discuss the proposed updates to the master plan at 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of Prospect School, 100 North Prospect Ave.
