HINSDALE – A body that was pulled from Salt Creek last month near the Graue Mill has been identified by the DuPage County Coroner's Office as 49-year-old Michael Hardin, who was last seen at a PADS shelter in Wheaton.

Coroner Richard Jorgensen said Hardin was a homeless man who would travel to various sites for shelter.

"He did have identification on him and then we were able to confirm because of that," Jorgensen said. "There were fingerprints and identification."

A cause of death has not been determined, as an investigation is still ongoing.

Hardin's body was discovered after severe flooding occurred in the area April 18. A pedestrian discovered the body and reported it to a nearby Oak Brook police officer.
