Parents can register children for Addison summer camps

ADDISON – The school year is coming to an end, but the fun is just beginning at the Addison Park District.

Parents can register their 3- to 13-year-old children for 12-week day camps. They can register their child for all 12 weeks or for one to 12 weeks. Parents also can purchase a five-day or 10-day pass allowing them to select the days that best fit their schedule.

A new option this year is the punch cards available to those who have chosen the five-day or 10-day options. These cards can be used to allow children to attend summer camp only on field trip days or on the days that fit into their schedule.

Field trip schedules are available at addisonparks.org or at the Park District Recreation Center. Extended daycare also is available.

Summer camps start June 4 and continue through Aug. 23. To register for summer camp, call the Addison Park District at 630-233-7275, stop by the Community Recreation Center at 120 E. Oak St., or sign up online at addisonparks.org.

Camps available:

Tiny Tots Camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at Community Park for children in preschool or entering kindergarten in the fall. Campers will make crafts, play indoor and outdoor games, play on the Splash Pad of the Family Aquatic Center and go on field trips every Wednesday. Campers must bring a towel, swimsuit and a sack lunch with them every day.

Kids and Sports Camps take place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for kids entering first through fifth grades in the fall. Sports Camp participants will partake in activities dedicated to sports. Kids Camp participants will enjoy sports, games, arts and crafts and swimming activities. Both camps will travel on field trips together every Tuesday and Thursday. Parents can register their children for camp weekly so campers can select a specific sport or interest. All campers must bring a sack lunch with them every day.

Adventure Camp will be held for kids entering sixth through eighth grades in the fall. Campers will go on field trips two to three times a week. Some field trip locations include Great America, Laser Quest, water parks and shopping malls. Campers must bring a sack lunch with them every day.
