LOMBARD – Formal charges were filed Monday against a Cary man who allegedly was involved in a bank robbery in Lombard earlier this month, along with robberies at two other suburban bank locations.

Evan L. Hall, 26, of the 100 block of River Drive, was charged with three counts of bank robbery, a felony offense, after allegedly being involved in robberies at three suburban TCF Bank branches. A criminal complaint was filed against Hall last week.

According to the criminal complaint, Hall allegedly was responsible for committing bank robberies at the TCF Bank branch, 1157 N. Eola Road in Aurora on June 2; at the TCF Bank located in the Lombard Jewel, 1177 S. Main St. on June 6; and at the TCF Bank branch at 1952 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora on June 12.

During the Lombard bank robbery, Hall allegedly indicated that he had a firearm in his sweatshirt pocket, but in the other two robberies he just made a verbal request for money, according to the report.

Shortly after the June 12 bank robbery, police stopped a blue Audi near the bank location. Hall was a passenger in the car and taken into custody.

If convicted, Hall faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
