ELMHURST – The YMCA will present an Elmhurst resident with the Good Samaritan Award this month.

Ray Stone won the award, which honors someone in the community that shows support for the YMCA, as well as Elmhurst as a whole. Stone has served as both the Elmhurst Park District Commissioner and the Elmhurst Park District Board President.

He founded the YMCA Stone Open when he suggested the annual Stone Open family outing partner with the YMCA. The event now raises approximately $15,000 annually for the "Stronger Together" Annual Scholarship Program.

Elmhurst's YMCA will acknowledge Stone as the Good Samaritan winner at this year's tournament July 20 at Maple Meadows Golf Club in Wood Dale. Call 630-929-2480 for reservations, sponsorship information or questions about the tournament.
