GLEN ELLYN – The Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn's sixth annual Scavenger Hunt will begin July 1 and extend through the rest of the month, giving residents the opportunity to participate in an adventure that will take them throughout the downtown area.

The free scavenger hunt begins at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St., where participants can pick up a guidebook for the hunt. This year, they also have the option to download an app for the event.

Residents can find various "Wizard of Oz" items at participating businesses and then head to The Bookstore, 475 N. Main St., to turn in their completed scavenger hunt sheets. Finding all the items qualifies them to be entered to win a variety of prizes, including a $100 shopping spree.

Everyone who finishes the hunt will receive a free cupcake from 2Toots Train Whistle Grill, 450 N. Main St.

A grand finale party for the scavenger hunt will take place from 2 until 3 p.m. Aug. 1 at The Bookstore.

For more information, call The Bookstore at 630-469-2891 or the Glen Ellyn Public Library at 630-469-0879.
