Elmhurst police arrest Villa Park man for soliciting children

ELMHURST – A Villa Park man is awaiting trial in DuPage County Jail after Elmhurst police arrested him recently on an indecent solicitation of a child charge.

Police arrested Timothy J. Stehle, 45, June 8 in the 800 block of North York Street, Elmhurst. He was allegedly targeting Elmhurst juveniles on Craigslist in a series of electronic communications with an Elmhurst police officer who was posing as a 15 year-old female.

Stehle was charged with indecent solicitation of a child and transported to DuPage County Jail where his bond was set at $10,000. His arrest was part of an ongoing effort by Elmhurst police to prevent and detect computer related crimes as well as unlawful sexual predatory offenses against children.
