LA GRANGE PARK – A new exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago exploring the relationship between art and fashion in late-19th Century Paris will be the topic of conversation at an event at La Grange Park Library on July 15.

"Ready to Wear & Ready to Paint: Fashion and Modernism in Late 19th Century Paris" will feature a slide lecture by Dr. Michelle Paluch-Mishur, a member of the Illinois Humanities Council’s speakers bureau. Mishur will discuss works by the artists featured at the exhibit, including Cassatt, Tissot, Caillebotte and Renoir, and their relationship to the Parisian fashion industry.

Register at the library, call 708-352-0100, or go to lplibrary.org.

The event is sponsored by the La Grange Park Friends of the Library.
