Wheaton Police Department temporarily closes prescription drop-off box

WHEATON – The Wheaton Police Department is temporarily closing its collection program for unwanted medicine, according to a City Hall news release.

The RxBox program collected unwanted or expired medicine for disposal, preventing the medications from entering the water supply and soil, according to the city website.

According to the news release, the program will be suspended until Aug. 10. The Police Department encourages residents to hold onto their prescriptions to dispose of them properly.
