VILLA PARK – A Villa Park man was charged with residential burglary Tuesday after reportedly confessing to police at a local business.

Leonel Solis, 19, of Villa Park was charged with residential burglary after allegedly taking items from a home earlier this month, police said.

Sometime between noon and 3:45 p.m. Aug. 21, Solis allegedly took a Nintendo Wii, a Blu-Ray player, four Nintendo Wii-mote controllers, a charging cradle and three tablets from a home in the 100 block of Westmore Avenue, according to police.

At the time, police investigators canvassed the area and were able to get video surveillance of the suspect's vehicle leaving the residence.

On Tuesday, officers saw the vehicle, a black Jeep Cherokee, at a business near Roosevelt Road and Michigan Avenue in Villa Park. They approached Solis, who confessed to being involved in the incident and led officers to the stolen property, according to police.

He was charged and transported to DuPage County Jail to await bond court.
