St. Charles man charged with heroin possession by Elmhurst police

Phillip G. Lawson, of St. Charles, is being held on $10,000 bond in DuPage County Jail after Elmhurst police arrested him Sunday for possession of heroin, theft and burglary.

ELMHURST – A St. Charles man is being held at DuPage County Jail on $10,000 bond after Elmhurst police charged him with possession of heroin.

Phillip G. Lawson, 33, of the 500 block of South 12th Street, St. Charles, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, theft and burglary at 5:58 a.m. Sept. 8 at York Street and Crestview Avenue.

During a traffic stop, police said they found Lawson had a crack pipe and heroin cooker. Police also collected seven Ziploc-style baggies containing heroin residue.

Police said Lawson's truck was also full of stolen construction tools, including an orange Stihl TS420 gasoline-powered Cutquik concrete cut-off saw worth $975 and eight 14-inch Norton brand high speed cut-off blades valued at $96.
