LEMONT – A 35-year-old Palos Hills man was hit by a car on South Archer Avenue near Bell Road at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to Cook County Sheriff's spokesperson Sophia Ansari.

Ansari said officers responded to a report of a car versus pedestrian. They later learned the man had been standing in the middle of Archer Avenue when he was struck by a 2004 Crown Victoria.

The Sheriff's Office did not disclose the condition of the man or what hospital he was transported to. Ansari said it is unknown at this time why the man was standing in the road.
