Explosion at Glendale Heights business injures 2

GLENDALE HEIGHTS – A small explosion at a Glendale Heights metal-fabricating business injured two people on Friday, according to a news release from the Glendale Heights Police Department.

The explosion occurred at about 12:40 p.m. at Titan Metals, Inc., 180 West Lake St.

Police said two employees were taken to GlenOaks Hospital. Their injuries were not disclosed.

An investigation of the explosion is still underway, but police believe it was caused by the mixing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in machinery and there are no signs of foul play, according to police.

Cost of property damages are unknown at this time.
