Forest Hills School collecting items for victims of Illinois tornadoes

WESTERN SPRINGS –The Forest Hills Student Council is organizing a collection for the Illinois residents affected by the Nov. 17 tornadoes that swept across the state. 

On Friday, the school will collect monetary donations and the following items: Walmart gift cards, lip balm, creamer cups for coffee, sugar packets, coffee cups with lids, hand warmers, work gloves, plastic bins with lids, heavy-duty trash bags and sunscreen.

The next day, the items will be brought to Washington, Ill., one of the towns hit most hard by the tornadoes.
